St. Joseph’s University To Honor Cardinal John Patrick Foley 12:44 pm

St. Joseph’s University will name the “Campus Commons” to honor the late Cardinal John Patrick Foley. The building, located on the James J. Maguire ’58 Campus, will be known as the “Cardinal John Patrick Foley Campus Center“. The official announcement and dedication of the building will come later today and can be watched live via the internet.The renaming of the Campus Commons to the Cardinal John Patrick Foley Campus Center is being made possible thanks to a generous donation by the Chairman of the Jacobs Realty Group Advisory Board, Michael J. Morris, class of ’56. Jacobs Realty Group President, Jim Jacobs, said:
“Michael has been a dear friend for many years, it’s incredible for us to have someone with his expertise on our board. The fact that he’s once again showing how generous he is to all of Saint Joseph’s is incredible. We’re honored to have Michael on our board for certain and the Hawk will never die!”
About Michael Morris
Michael has a wealth of business experience, and serves on the boards of a number of local companies. Michael is the retired Chief Executive Officer and President of both Transport International Pool (TIP) and GE Modular Buildings. Mr. Morris is a Director of Beneficial Mutual Bancorp and a Trustee of Beneficial Mutual Savings Bank where he serves as a member of the Senior Loan Committee and Audit Committee. Mr. Morris is also a Director of Philadelphia Insurance Company and Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company and is a member of the Audit Committee.
Today Mr. Morris has significant roles on various boards/committees such as GE Capital, GELCO Corporation, Mercy Health System-Medical Centers, Saint Joseph’s University and Gwynedd-Mercy College. Mr. Morris received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University and in his free time is an avid golfer and basketball player.
